After 12th, choosing a course feels like the biggest decision of your life. A good way to decide is to look at three things: your interest, the future demand, and whether the course gives you a clear skill.
Commerce, Arts or any stream
- BA LLB / BBA LLB (5 years) – law is open to all streams and leads to practice, corporate and government roles.
- Hotel Management (3–4 years) – great for people who enjoy food, travel and service.
- B.Des (4 years) – for creative students interested in fashion, interiors or digital design.
- BBA / BCA (3 years) – strong base for business and technology careers.
Science – PCM
- B.Tech – Computer Science, AI & Data Science (4 years)
- B.Pharm (4 years) – PCM students are also eligible in many universities
- B.Arch, B.Sc (Physics / Maths / IT)
Science – PCB
- B.Sc Nursing (4 years) / GNM (3 years)
- B.Pharm (4 years) / D.Pharm (2 years)
- Paramedical – B.Sc MLT, Radiology, OT Technology
- B.Sc Agriculture (4 years)
After 10th?
A Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) is a practical 3-year option after 10th, with lateral entry into B.Tech later.

- Check approvals – UGC for the university, and the relevant council (BCI, PCI, INC, AICTE, NCTE) for professional courses.
- Look at entrance exams and eligibility early.
